The Enemy of Good is...Better!

For the second time in the past year we are attempting to move the Team Exergy website to a faster and friendlier host. After our initial venture ended in a resounding defeat, we put the idea on hold and limped through the end of the 2011 racing season. Only recently have we been brave enough to entertain the idea of another attempt, and as you may imagine, it was equally painful.

Alas, those grey days are long behind us...TeamExergy.com is back and it is better than before! Along with the upgrade in efficiency, you will notice a renewed dedication to current and consistent content change. During the winter training season you can expect to see photos taken by Team Exergy riders and staff from our favorite training routes all over the Western Hemisphere. We hope you enjoy the contrast of off-season roads ranging from Canada to Colombia, Seattle to Atlanta, and many points in between.

For those of you who haven't seen the 2012 roster for Team Exergy, we have lost a few lads and added a few more. Chris Hong will be studying medicine at The Ohio State University, Erik Slack has moved over to Wonderful Pistachios, and Remi McManus has finally retired and been promoted to General Manager of this outfit (who says bike racing is a dead end job?). New riders include Carlos Alzate's younger brother Andres, sprint demon Logan Loader, Northwest legend Morgan Schmitt, Moldovan TT champ Serghei Tvetkov, and Fly V refugee Zac Davies. Returning wind riders include: Co-captains Freddie Rodriguez and Kai Applequist, Carlos Alzate, Andres Diaz, Matt Cooke, Sam Johnson, Quinn Keogh, Ben Chaddock, and the Ginger Twins - Kevin and Conor Mullervy.

Add the old and the new and we have 15 men making up the 2012 roster. In order to give these gentlemen the support necessary to succeed, Team Exergy has beefed up our staff considerably. Besides moving Remi to a fulltime office position, Director Sportif Tad Hamilton will have help from Asst Directors Ken Mills and Gary Casella. Chief Mechanic Josh Geizler is now living in Boise and working daily to keep our equipment tip-top. 2011 soigneur Mark Dauenhauer (Senor Viejo) will see limited duty at nearby events while new prospects Bob Fulghum, Troy Lyon, and Mike Smith help take up the slack. Mark worked as our lone soigneur last year and packed about 4 years of work into a single season. His new relaxed schedule was well earned, and we wish him all the best!

Happy New Year!
